When attempting to create a pdf to be read on the E61, I exsperienced the following:
- downloading and installation of rdr: no problem
- uploading a pdf to the mini-SD card: no problem
- displaying the pdf (version 1.5) in the Adobe reader: many problems:
* the reader does not support paging correctly, one has the move the joystick twice to get another page
* there is no info available about the ppi of the screen (which is very good btw), so I experimented with the document size and finally found that 110 mm x 85 mm gives the best results; I used Arial 14 pts to get a comfortable readable text
* formatting of the text is ok, including colors
* other graphical elements like: background colors, gradients and jpg's are not displayed. it's almost a b/w screen except the type colors
* when trying to display a pdf with size of 3,55 MByte, an error message appears: "not enough memory" which is bull
* I got an e-mail from Adobe that they have an alliance with Nokia to develop a pdf reader; is this that reader or will something new appear from Adobe. It would be nice in that case to ventilate that the current reader is only a prototype
* there are much better readers around; e.g. the reader from mBrainsoftware, who has almost the same functions as the pc reader and who displays everything correct
Maybe somebody reads this who wants to share his/her experience with designing pdf content for the NOKIA E61; would appreciate.
Leon.
