Reading pdf files is very slow on my nokia 5800 mobile phone. I have Adobe Reader LE 2.5 and when i open any pdf file, it runs very slow and the scrolling is very slow in spite of opening pdf files which contain text only and in black color. I have tried also wrap text option and the problem persists. Is there anyway to reduce the quality of the pdf displayed on my mobile?? and What i have to do to make it run smooth and fast to make reading on my mobile possible???

Thanks in advance

Adobe Acrobat for Sony-Ericsson P900 "Master of All"

A year later and the P900 is finally available (in a "watch this space" kind of way) and the lucky few that have them already are starting to fall in love with them.

Perhaps a Sony-Ericsson digitally signed version can now become available - running under what is essentially "Open Symbian" not "Nokia Symbian".

The P900 seems pretty much like a dead cert to take over the Marketplace that the Nokia Communicator never quite managed to properly target.

Looks like a few diehards will still be using their Communicators in five years time after having forked out for the hardware in the first place, but there is a new sheriff in town.

Want Acrobat Reader on your Series 60 device?

Leave your thoughts & phone's model number here, and hopefully Adobe will release Acrobat Reader for Series 60 devices in the near future...

The idea is that if enough people want Acrobat Reader for Series 60 devices, hopefully Adobe will release a Series 60 version of Acrobat Reader, after seeing just how many people have Series 60 devices.

NOTE: Please post your comments in the forum specific to your device. See my "Is YOUR phone compatible?" thread if you don't know what type of device you have...

Splitting PDF files because of memory restriction on 6680

As it seems s.60 version of Adobe Acrobat Reader does not use the memory card for some absolute obscure reason.

I have 1/2Gb of card memory and can't even open a 10Mb file.

I need to transport AND be able to USE a file of ~60Mb but I cannot find any way of breaking this down into the pathetically large number of 30-odd files needed just to simply to cope with the inadequacies on S.60 version of Acrobat reader.

Does anyone know how this can be achieved?

Re-install N97mini after hard-reset

Hey,

I already paid the Software by credit card and downloaded it directly on the mobile phone.

Few days ago I had troubles with my phone and I couldn't start it anymore. After hard-reseting it, it worked again.

Unfortunately all software is gone now.

When I start the Adobe Reader mobile it says "10 days trial" version. Do I have to pay again?

Thanks for your answer

pdf screen adjustment for Nokia N95

$

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone of you found an application to readjust pdf-files to the screen of your Nokia N95. When i read a pdf-file i constantly have to scroll from left to right and back because the article doesn't fit the screen. It is hard to read like that.
PDA's like Palm reorganize the pdf file automatically to fit the screen and make it easy to read.
does anyone know if there is someting similar for the nokia?

thx!

One of the previous messages asked if the Adobe Reader OS version could be used to read ebooks on Nokia 9210i and I have been trying to do this. The Adobe response was that they would consider adding this functionality on the next OS release - please can you advise when the next Reader OS will be released. Many Thanks

NEW - PDF+ reader for Nokia E61

For the Nokia E61 - and other S60 devices - a new pdf+ reader is available. It has a wealth of functionality and can deal with wrong color spaces and buggy transparancy as generated by ID CS. Here are some examples what I tried for the pdf applications I develop (travel guides):
- email addresses can be made hot and e-mails sent from within the pdf
- url's can be made hot and websites invoked from within the pdf
- telephone numbers can be made hot and calls initiated from within the pdf

Pretty cool, isn't it?

The reader is developed by a small Dutch company "mBrain Software" and beta versions are free for download now.

Maybe one or two of you find this info usefull :-)

How to create tagged PDF for Symbian

$

Though my new Nokia N95 opens any PDF file, they are hard to read, except if I zoom in so far that I have to scroll each line left to right.
that's not praticable.

From my Palm Tungsten I know the PalmReader software (installed on PC), which converts the original PDF to a tagged file before sending it to my palm.
So each line breaks correctly to the next line and there is no need scrolling from left to right.

Is there a simple way (program) for Symbian OS to build such files.

Best regards

Peter
